Biography of Kabir Das

Kabir Das was the originator of the Bhaktikal era of 15th century India. Criticism of superstitions, social evils, rituals, social evils will be found in his works. Kabirdas did not believe in any religion. It was a secular one. Therefore, they get threats from both sides on their views, both Hindu and Muslim. Kabirdas considered karma to be the head. And he was a critic of Hindu and Muslim religion.

Kabirdas had his offspring of Neema and Neeru, or both of them had only raised them. It is said that Neema and Neeru met this child near Lahartara Tal of Kashi. Who later became Kabirdas.


Some people believe. Kabirdas was the child of a widowed Brahmani. Which Ramanand Swami had mistakenly blessed to be a daughter. Due to which Brahmani got a son and she threw the child near Lahartara Tal of Kashi. While Kabir Panthists believe that Kabirdas was born on the lotus flower in the Lahartara Taal of Kashi. It is said according to a belief. When someone dies in Kashi. So he gets heaven. And those who die in Maghar. He gets hellfire. So in the end time Kabirdas went to Maghar to end this superstition. And he died there. His mausoleum and tomb are still located in Maghar.


Kabirdas was not educated. He could not write. Therefore he could not write the book himself. So when he spoke who used to write the word coming out of his mouth, his disciples would write it. The name Rama was glorified in all the compositions of Kabir.


The language styles of Kabirdas are quite simple. Which people can easily understand. His language includes Braj language, period, Khadi dialect, Punjabi, Haryanvi and Rajasthani languages.


Dharmadas collected the words of Kabirdas and wrote it in the eponymous text. Which is written in three parts. 1 friend 2 Sabad 3 Ramani.


Many scholars have different opinions about the death of Kabirdas. Some believe his death in 1518 AD. So some people believe in 1448 AD.


According to one belief, when Kabirdas died, there was a dispute between Hindus and Muslims. Because Hindus wanted Kabirdas to be cremated by Hindu customs and Muslims wanted Kabirdas to be cremated according to Muslim customs. Till then, the sheet with which the corpse of Kabirdas was covered. He removed the sheet from the dead body and saw that there were flowers lying on the site of Kabirdas's body. After that Hindus and Muslims divided the flower in half and cremated those flowers according to their custom.
